Our Story

It all started in a coffee shop.

Like many experiences and occurrences in life, CODE & COPY wasn't "part of the plan." In fact, it started as a small, part-time copywriting and editing gig for a sports medicine practice in the Westside. Alexia Agamata, Founder and Chief Developer & Editor, accepted the job to earn some extra cash and because she loved researching and writing about anything having to do with exercise and health while sipping on her latte at her favorite coffeeshop.

She soon learned that word spreads fast, especially when you work hard to produce something worth reading. Within the first 6-months to a year, she had acquired at least four new clients without advertising or marketing herself whatsoever. Her services offered gradually came to include website design and development, social media management, search engine optimization, and email marketing.

After that first year, it was clear that small businesses--from medical practices to fashion boutiques--were desperately needing assistance in all things online but just didn't have the time nor the energy to implement online projects, let alone learn how in their non-existent spare time. CODE & COPY was founded organically in response to that need.

Our Mission

We hope to be a resource and a tool for small businesses looking to simply, yet accurately reflect the quality of their mission, their employees, their services and products online. It's our goal to accomplish this through aesthetic design, clear and descriptive words, and promotion of helpful & engaging content through social networks.
